Welcome to Cyber Guru, the e-learning platform dedicated to Cyber Security Awareness. The goal of this platform is increasing the degree of knowledge and awareness of an organization concerning the risks related to the use of IT systems, helping all its members to adopt correct behaviors, able to reduce these risks and increase the level of IT security of the organization.
This course is not addressed to specialists in the computer industry, but to all those who use a personal computer in an organization and who interact through the Internet (basically everybody).
The aim is to help the members of an organization, regardless of their role, to become active subjects in the protection system, and to prevent that through their behavior, they could become unaware victims of the criminal organizations that habitually operate on the Web.
The main purpose of this training is therefore helping people protect themselves and their organizations.
The course is organized in 12 modules with a monthly release.
Each module is divided in turn into 3 lessons whose content consists of a short video, a "text" version that reproduces the video content and an evaluation test consisting of 4 multiple choice questions, randomly chosen by a larger set.
The module will be considered completed, after the successful completion of all the 3 lessons it is constituted of. Only then it will be possible to proceed to the next module.
If you correctly answer to all 12 questions in a module you will get a virtual medal.
The modules will be enabled on a monthly basis.
If you win all the medals of a block (quarter) made up of 3 modules, an evaluation test consisting of 5 multiple choice questions is proposed. By answering correctly to the 5 questions, you win a trophy. In the modules, it is not possible to access the evaluation test again, therefore, even a single incorrect answer can compromise irreversibly the possibility of winning the Trophy.
The training follows the logic of a "game", with the awarding of recognitions and the elaboration of rankings on a team level. It is important to underline that the training activity of the individual affects the whole team’s result.
This method of delivery, which responds to the concept of "gamification", increases the training’s formative effectiveness and this is why it’s been implemented within Cyber Guru.
The use of the platform and the criteria that determine the assignment of rewards and prizes are described in the rules and the tutorial.
The technical phrasing and the terms used during the lessons may at times not be totally rigorous, since privilege is given to the widest understanding public possible, rather than to a technically flawless treatment.
